Janakpur Bolts secured a convincing eight-wicket victory over Kathmandu Gorkhas in the fifth match of Nepal Premier League (NPL) Season 3 at Kirtipur on Thursday.

After winning the toss or being put into the field, Janakpur’s bowlers delivered a disciplined performance to bowl Kathmandu Gorkhas out for 115 in 19.3 overs. Rahul Yadav was the standout performer, claiming four wickets, while Saif Hassan picked up two wickets to put Kathmandu under pressure.

Kathmandu struggled to build partnerships throughout their innings. Bhim Sharki top-scored with 33 off 29 balls, while Rashid Khan contributed 17. However, regular wickets prevented the Gorkhas from building a competitive total.

Chasing 116 for victory, Janakpur lost Trit Raj Das early, and Mayan Yadav departed after scoring nine. But those wickets did little to slow the chase as Moeen Ali and Saif Hassan took control.

Moeen played a steady, unbeaten innings of 58 off 51 balls, striking three fours and three sixes. At the other end, Saif Hassan supported him brilliantly with an unbeaten 40 off 39 balls, including three sixes.

The pair guided Janakpur to 116/2 in just 17.2 overs, sealing the win with 16 balls remaining.

For Kathmandu, Ripon Mondol took one wicket, but the bowlers were unable to break the partnership that carried Janakpur over the line.

The victory highlighted Janakpur’s strength with both bat and ball, as Rahul Yadav’s four-wicket haul set the tone before Moeen and Saif calmly completed the chase.
